WPO - Early Question
Sorry for this noob question. I live 3 hours from Tunica. I've never played in the WPO, but am planning on it this year. How far out should I reserve my rooms?
Again...very noob...my apologies. |

Re: WPO - Early Question
1) Now would be a good time to make reservations?
2) Who is Johnny? Who to PM? 3) RR, are you still involved with Tunica's goings on? |

He is the new poker room manager at Beau Rivage in Bilouxi and is the tournament director for the WPO. I left the Tunica market in 2004 when the Grand decided to stiff me for $2100 they owe me. |

Re: WPO - Early Question
To the OP, I'd reserve the room as soon as possible, as you can ALWAYS cancel later on if you decide not to go.
These rooms always sell out FAST, and I'd call the Gold Strike now, to book your room (tell them you want the WPO rate, and if they don't have that, ask for a poker room rate). Same thing goes if you book over at one of the Harrah's properties, and want the WSOP rate. |

Re: WPO - Early Question
Rooms at the goldstrike/horseshoe will sell out, but Sam Town, Hollywood,Sheraton etc... won't and if they do Memphis is only 30 minutes away. As long as you have a car you're Ok. Attendance has been declining the last couple of years, but its a great event !!!! |
