Continue pushing?
Villain has been 46/14.3/0.9 over 168 hands. To my surprise I don't have any notes on his PFR range despite that 14.3. As an example of his style I saw him cold-call with A9o and then call a bet on a flop of K22.
PokerStars $0.10/$0.20 Limit Hold'em - 10 players Hand Converter Tool from DeucesCracked.com Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 raises, UTG+2 folds, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, Hero 3-bets, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, MP2 calls. Final Pot: 12.50 BB My question here is whether it seems to make sense (seems +EV) to continue to be aggressive here in the absence of resistance. (I would have folded the turn to a c/r and I would have agonized over one on the river. I don't think this guy would c/r as a bluff, very few would at this level.) |

Re: Continue pushing?
Yes, push, I think you played the hand optimally. This villain is passive so you can't be sure you are ahead because with a three flush they may have played AQ this way but there are many more hands that they play this way that you do beat. This player is most likely a complete fish and you make money in this game by value betting hands like this.

Re: Continue pushing?

Re: Continue pushing?
Thanks. I want this sort of play to become reflexive so I can conserve mental bandwidth for other decisions!

Re: Continue pushing?
that's the way I would play it. His calling is actually contributing to your +EV most of the time. he sould be chasing a A mid kicker, or a 4 flush draw. Or sometimes at these levels, the donk could be holding JJ, and hoped that you were bluffing with an A pair...

Re: Continue pushing?
Hermann, nh!
It's rather standard, so this should become reflexive in the future. And given the results, I hope you made some good notes, since he basically screwed up royally and should have easily made an extra SB of of you preflop, AND one BB on the turn. Thank him for being fishy! |
