Default Need Coffee Advice

This weekend a girl that I have been dating for a month is staying here from Friday night until Sunday night.

I have never tasted coffee simply because the smell is just terrible. She however loves the stuff so I want to go get a coffee maker and some coffee. I simply have no clue and would probably just go buy one of the drip coffeemakers that I have always seen.

Please let me know if there is a better alternative to those. I also need to know what kind of coffee to get. I don't really want to spend a ton of money on this though so please don't recommend some huge $100 machine.

Thanks,

NZ

I don't see how a Mr. Coffee drip machine and some pre-grinded grounds is bad (esp. if you want to save money on the first shot). It shouldn't cost you too much. Just go to Costco or something.

edit: don't forget the filters.

get a french press. very easy to make coffee with these and she might be impressed. plus it's most definitely cheaper than a drip coffee machine.

mmmmmm......coffee

You don't need a machine. Just get one of these:

It's just a plastic, single-use filter. Here are the steps:

(1) Put the plastic thing on top of a cup;
(2) Put a paper filter inside;
(3) Put 3 big teaspoons of ground coffee;
(4) Add boiling water.

I just went to the store to get one of these and couldn't find one. I guess I will have to go to a coffee store at the mall to find them?

I did see a Senseo machine that looked real nice. It made single cups and you could also buy tea and hot chocolate packets which would make the machine usable for me when Amy isn't around. Has anyone tried one of these yet?
