I'm sure it sucks to be an 18 year old and have this happen to you, but it really sounds like her and her family are dwelling on the negative when they should be embracing the positive.

However, a big positive would be financial gain, and if she embraced that, she'd lose her eligibility .

Actually judging by his previous track record, you won't serve any jail time or pay a fine, at least if you're a cop.
