I thought he had KK or AA but now i think if he had these hands, he never checks on the flop (coz two diamonds ). So bad play ( exclude the call before the flop ) or that's poker ( and part of variance )? |

If you lost a pot with a set and didn't get stacked you didn't play it right.

Re: Set against set : is it possible to fold ?
set over set is like more than 100:1 odds against so dont worry about over sets unless its like a limped pot and against a supernit

Re: Set against set : is it possible to fold ?
did you guys even read the OP before posting? he can neither fold nor raise when it's checked to him
people that raise preflop and then check the flop generally either have a set or crap, but it's not like you can get away from this with so much money in the pot and so little in your stack |

Re: Set against set : is it possible to fold ?
The whole hand is correct.
The preflop limp and subsequent call both are profitable for set value. As long as you predict you will recoup 8x your preflop investment on average if you hit your set, it's good. The flop bet is imperative. One can argue whether you should have gotten your stack in all on the turn or half on the turn and half on the river, but both are profitable. |
