1) They used to charge rake, so everything is in place to:
2) Take rake and give it back, thus showing everyone how much they are losing in rake at other sites. Pretty ingenious, if you ask me. |

Addendum to 2) Most people won't notice any effect if the rake is abolished. They will notice $100 being put into their account on Monday/Tuesday

I doubt they will be rake free forever. Instead of uninstallling rake and then reinstalling it, it is much easier to just leave it in place.
And lets not forget that the system does not only give back the rake to the winner of the pot but it distributes it to all the participants in the hand that contributed to the rake. |

Also they have a skin(s) that does charge rake, they have to take money out of the pots for them, which the skin players never get (all) back.

It's marketing 001. - The rakeback also makes it virtually impossible to go entirely BUSTO. Which is a good thing for the site. |

Rakeback is genius. Much, much, much better than rake free.

Also, they should be making a small profit off of short-term investment of the float while they hold our rake for a week. I wouldn't mind if they kept it for a month to make a bit more profit on the float, just to keep it rake "free".
