Whey Protein
I've been in the cutting phase for a few months now. As my results are slowing and I am having trouble making meals in advance I am looking for a few new things. The main thing I'm wondering is if taking whey protein, mainly as a meal replacement twice a day would be a good idea. If u need more info just ask, I'm on my way to work and won't be back on for awhile.

Re: Whey Protein
If you're not getting enough protein from food, whey is a good supplement. It doesn't make a meal though, it's just pure protein. You could add it to some sort of smoothie or shake for a simple, more balanced meal.
What's your diet and exercise plan? Can you be more specific about your goals? |

Re: Whey Protein
If you are looking for a good protein supplement Biotest's Metabolic Drive Super Protein Shake is untouchable. You can get it pretty cheap from them directly at Tnation. It tastes pretty good. I just started taking another Biotest supplement called Surge Recovery designed for post-workout. I am not so sure about the taste just yet but I have noticed a difference in my soreness level when I take it or don't take it.

Re: Whey Protein
Sorry, have a little more time to go into detail now. I'm 22, 6'3" and 235 pounds. Around 4 months ago I was 268. The diet I've been mainly using consists of a lot of chicken, vegetables, brown rice, cottage cheese, and occasional fruit. For breakfast I usually have plain oatmeal or healthier serials like Kashi or Fiber One. My problem is I know I should be eating around 6 meals a day, however I commonly only find myself eating 3 or 4. Ideally I'd like to add 2 shakes, Preworkout and postworkout to help keep my metabolism going. I also take a one a day vitamin and fish oil. Am thinking of also adding Hot Rox or Lipo 6. I'm not looking for advice on my workout but a quick average is 5 days a week with 3 days mainly hard cardio and 2 other days mainly free weights with light cardio at the end(run a mile or two). Any other info just ask.

Re: Whey Protein
Generic answer given vagueness of post:
High protein low carb diet generally good for a "cutting phase". Sure. |
