I think 2000 accomplishes the same thing and a shove looks more like a bluff so he's calling with probably most pairs in addition to any straight.

The pot is 2875, villain has got 2550, I don't think 2000 looks any less bluffy.

I like it (or a similar large commiting bet) as a default play but this is gonna be really dependant on the BB. Any stats?
