JJ oop against donk
Villain is 37/17/1.8
SB is unknown Party Poker, $0.50/$1 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter BB: $99.17 UTG: $105.12 Hero (CO): $100 BTN: $150.97 SB: $103.30 Pre-Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO) UTG calls $1, Hero raises to $5, BTN calls $5, SB calls $4.50, 2 folds Flop: ($17) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players) SB checks, Hero bets $12, BTN calls $12, SB folds Turn: ($41) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN checks River: ($41) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BTN bets $22, Hero calls $22 I was a bit lost in this hand. My own thoughts on the hand: Bet a bit more on flop ( 14$ ) b/f turn seems better than c/f against this villain. When he checked back turn and flush missed on river I feel that folding would be weak. |

Re: JJ oop against donk
It sure looks like a raggedy ace to me, like A8 or A9 or something. If you choose to c-bet and are called, just give up. What could he have but the ace here? Also, if you're going to put chips in the pot after the flop (as you did by calling the river), just bet the turn and see if he drops (not recommended, but still). You're just trying to catch a stone bluff on the river, but it's just not likely that he's got a busted club draw here.

Re: JJ oop against donk
Cont bet then give up on the hand
as played it isn't terrible and the call on the end isn't bad .. any more than that though im folding but you are still getting 25% from the pot here and i think that you will be good here 1/4 times... |

Id fold, and i probably wouldnt cbet. [/ QUOTE ] The problem with not c-betting is that he will bet very often with his entire range IMO. Are you saying c/f flop against a 37/17? [ QUOTE ] What could he have but the ace here? [/ QUOTE ] FD,T9,J9 [ QUOTE ] You're just trying to catch a stone bluff on the river, but it's just not likely that he's got a busted club draw here. [/ QUOTE ] I don't see why not? could you elaborate on why that is unlikely? |

[/ QUOTE ] I don't see why not? could you elaborate on why that is unlikely? [/ QUOTE ] It looks like a standard spot where he called unsure of a poor ace, but where the check on the turn told him his hand was good. I certainly could be wrong, and the more I look at it, the more possible a KJ of clubs or something appears to be. It just feels a lot like a bad ace to me. As far as the 10-9 or J-9 goes, why would he bet the river? He'd likely view his hand as good here, and he's last to act on the river, so why attempt to value bet (what would call him?) and why turn it into a bluff? I just don't see that as something that would bet the river here, but I of course could be (and often am, lol) wrong. |

I was thinking more what hands he would call c-bet with. And I think that J9 and T9 is in there. I agree that I'm only beating a missed draw on river. |
