x-post: help me gain weight
I'm 6'1", ~150 lbs, 22 yrs old. I see a lot of people successfully lose weight on here, and I want some advice on doing the opposite. I'd like to gain ~25 lbs in 4 months. I dont wanna eat Big macs everyday though. I eat pretty healthy, work out regularly, and cant seem to gain a pound. I've tried whey, creotine...all that [censored]. Do I need to eat a ton of carbs? Anything besides pasta? I'm open to ideas.

Re: x-post: help me gain weight
You probably need to cut back on cardio and endurance exercises, lift heavy, and do either squats or deadlifts if not both. Also get more sleep and tone way down on the physical vices.

Re: x-post: help me gain weight
take whatever you eat and add around 1000 calories to it. protein and carbs. You will gain weight. You dont have to eat unhealthy to gain weight, just eat more. However, all of your gain wont be muscle.

Re: x-post: help me gain weight
Why the hell would you want to gain 25 pounds in four months?
Unless it's worth lots of dollars, don't do it. You really want to stay close to 150 lbs for the rest of your life. |

I like to add peanut butter to protein shakes. If you like olive oil, add some on your food. |

Re: x-post: help me gain weight
If you gain 25 lbs in four months, what's going to stop you from gaining another 25 lbs in the next four months. You're going to gain weight naturally as you get older.

Re: x-post: help me gain weight
You should really check out the Rippetoe program. Three months ago I was going through some girl-related depression, wasn't eating, drinking smoking alot etc etc. I was a [censored] VERY SKINNY 6'4" 165. I am now 195, follow the program. It is basically just a big change in your diet (that is not meant to be sustainable, just to give you a large boost in overall mass). I eat 3500 calories a day, drink alot of milk, eat alot of eggs, and I workout only 3 times a week, and I have seen a huge improvement.
I lost the abds that I had naturally just from having such a low body fat, but they are stronger now, and when I get off this rediculous diet once I get to my desired weight goal (210), I will change my diet and my exercise regime. Just google for Rippetoe program. You'll find it and it absolutely works. |
