\"The Mist\" imo will be awesome
Let me preface by saying I am a big Stephen King fan, with The Mist one of my favorites. It is a novella a little over 100 pages.
Now if yo have seen previews, and dont know the story I expect "great, another The Fog movie" crossed your mind. Though I havent seen either "Fog", I can assure The Mist will be a truly terrifying movie. The read was so well written, it actually gave me nightmares. Most SK fans rank the Mist as one of their favorites. Yes, I know that SK stories usually fall short on the screen, but Frank (shawshank, green mile) Darabont is directing, and I believe he would not take on the task if he wasnt confident he could do a good job. Great story + very good director = disappointment? Maybe, but I still think this movie will rock. |

Uh no...lol
The ending is almost enough to completly ruin the entire movie. Its one of the most awful creative descions of all time. |

I have no intention of seeing it. [/ QUOTE ] they drive and drive until the car runs out of gas while they are still in the mist. They realize they are screwed and TJane pulls out the gun but it only has 4 bullets left. So Jane says he will figure out something to do given there is no 5th bullet. So they kidn of all agree to let Jane kill them/commit suicide. His son wakes up and looks at his dad in horror and then you hear 4 shots and cut to Jane in car crying and screaming and banging [censored]...they are all dead obv. He then gets out of car screaming at mist..come and get me u bastards etc. You hear groans etc that the monsters make in the mist...he keeps yelling..etc but nothing kills him. then out of the mist comes the monster to kill him...cept he realizes its an army tank with soldiers behind it. Then like in a split second the mist is gone and he see the dudes flamethrowing [censored] like the spiders n stuff..and he falls to his knees screaming at the sky as two soldiers look on in gas masks like "why is the dude screaming at the sky". the end. Also as all this is happeneing he sees a car go by and in it is the woman who in the beginning of the movie is the first person to go out in the mist cuz she left her daughter at home and sometimes the babysitter forgets to look after her blah blah blah. The one no one has the guts to escort home. It actually wouldnt have been as awful and ending if it just ended with Jane walking and disapearing into the mist...but the whole Army showing up right after he assistants in the suicide of everyone including his son..plus the mist just vanishes when the army shows up....very very very dumb. |

Re: \"The Mist\" imo will be awesome
Harry Knowles at Aintitcoolnews.com gave it a big thumbs up - and given the reviewer, that's a hell of a compliment.
I haven't read the book, but based on Harry's review and the trailer it looks like a Stephen King take of "Night of the Living Dead" - innerestin. since I have about 5 copies of that movie, I'll have to go catch this one [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] RB |

Knowles is a complete joke. This is the guy who was so moved by Armegedon that he cried multiple times in it. He also thought the Hostel movies were works of genius. I actually think overall the Mist is awesome..especially the look...looks really good. But why couldnt they have just ended it with a bit of skill instead of the Steven Speilberg type ending of "we have to know what happens to everyone who left the store". Plus I hate it when the script does a 180 at the end of a movie and characters act totally out of character and [censored] happens that makes no sense...even within the confines of a horror movie. |

Re: \"The Mist\" imo will be awesome
Yeah, if Knowles says a movie is bad, that might mean something, but if he loves it, it has equal chances of being awful or brilliant or anything in-between.

Re: \"The Mist\" imo will be awesome
Wonder if it's a case of "Oh well, I guess it's time to wrap it up now" that hits so many movies and makes them seem to just give up on their own endings.
