(Stars $114) - TPBK in the Blinds
Villain is a very good 2+2er. Any other way to play this?

I play it the same. I swear 2/3 of the time you're good here.

He is building the pot, not trying to keep it small. You are very often in trouble here, even if it is only kicker trouble. What do you put a good villain on here? I would seriously consider folding the turn. But might let my curiosity get to me and call down. There are very few top pair hands you beat, and do we really think villain use this line with a weak made hand or air? |

Well I missed that too. I need to pay more attention. But you're still good here enough of the time to call. He might have you on a draw. He's not betting enough to push you out, which either means he has a monster or is just hoping you have a busted draw. I don't see how you can lay down the river for 350.

If you get to the river I guess it is a call. You should probably decide on the turn wether you feel top pair no kicker is good enough or not. He isn't betting to push you out there either.

Re: (Stars $114) - TPBK in the Blinds
For one if your playing a 114 i shouldnt be replying but here goes
you lead makes sesne, reraise to me means a pair between 66-JJ (60%) or slow played KK or AA from the SB (10%) flopped an open ended str8 draw (5,7 or 3,5) (30%) atleast thats my range of hands I guess the 7 ont he turn could be trouble to complete a str8 draw and the 10 on the river has to be a blank (unless he held 10,10) *personally i just fold the flop b/c i hate being placed in a tough situation w/ tp weak K (but thats prob why i run 20 S&G's ) - I def fold by the turn cause i'm scccrddd whats the range of hands you think he could have? (great hand post) |

I'd probably play it the same and fold the river.

Re: (Stars $114) - TPBK in the Blinds
Not all 2+2ers are created equal, I honestly think it depends on which 2+2er it is. Though, I should say that I pretty much never fire this particular 3rd barrel anymore as villian, once you call the flop and turn I know you have a hand that will be difficult for me to make fold on the river, meaning the river bet SHOULD be a value bet nearly always - so I'd probably fold the river most of the time as Hero.
As hero, my default line against an unknown would be to raise the turn, but it depends on which 2+2er it is. |

[/ QUOTE ] Given that we hit a pretty solid draw and are often good already, I am a strong advocate of not raising the turn (especially since we are getting such good odds to see the river). As far as the river goes, I think it is very close, but I would venture to guess that calling is slightly more -EV than folding, but I think it's pretty marginal. |
