25:NL Line Chk
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
I just sat down at this table and have not played vs. villain so no reads on villain MP1 ($31.40) Hero ($24.55) CO ($17.20) Button ($24.65) SB ($46.20) BB ($6.40) UTG ($30.25) UTG+1 ($24.65) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with T, T. 3 folds</font>, Hero raises to $1</font>, 2 folds</font>, SB calls $0.90, 1 fold</font>. Flop: ($2.25) 5, 8, 4 (2 players)</font> SB checks, Hero bets $1.5</font>, SB calls $1.50. Turn: ($5.25) A (2 players)</font> SB checks, Hero checks. Scare card. I think the odds of a flush draw are reduced though because ace high flush draws are a little more common. River: ($5.25) 7 (2 players)</font> Another scare card. SB bets $3.5</font>, Hero folds. Final Pot: $5.25 In the end I put villain on a suckout . I think the odds of a suckout combined with the odds of villain playing a better hand passively could make the river -ev for me to call? Thoughts? |

Re: 25:NL Line Chk
I'm thinking I should have bet the turn for information and aggression and folded to a raise/checked it out from there.

Re: 25:NL Line Chk
I wonder how pushing on the river would have worked out

I wonder how pushing on the river would have worked out [/ QUOTE ] Don't wonder this. You played it fine. The turn check and river fold is totally standard against a non-maniac opponent. If he is floating every hand with air to bluff later you'll get him soon enough. |

Re: 25:NL Line Chk
If I don't have a read that he calls to draw to a flush and then checks made flush on the turn often I likely fire again.
You hold one of the flush cards and the A is out there (as you said that makes it somewhat less likely that he has a flush). The third flush card could scare him more than you, the A could also scare him. |

Re: 25:NL Line Chk
Nice analysis. I think the fold equity of betting the checked turn is worth it against an unknown in this case.
What if I bet the turn $3.75 and was called. Then villain bet river for say 1/6 pot ($2.00 into a $12.00 pot) and i was looking at 7 to 1, would this be a call? |
