25 NL 56s flopping trips
I've just started playing cash. Before I played a lot of STT's, mostly $20's and $10's, but I became kind of bored.
This hand I got 56s. I'm at the table for some 35 hands, being weak-tight. Villain seems solid. Absolute Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.10/$0.25 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $16.05 Hero: $15.88 CO: $20 Button: $15.57 SB: $50.70 BB: $35.45 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG+1 with 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG raises to $1, Hero calls, 4 folds. Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($2.35, 2 players) UTG bets $1.75, Hero calls. Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($5.85, 2 players) UTG bets $2.23, Hero raises to $5.46, UTG calls. River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($16.77, 2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets $3.17, UTG calls. Results: Final pot: $23.11 As a newcomer I wonder how my line is. Preflop calling is bad? Should I raise the flop? Don't avoid being harsh in your comments. I like to learn as fast as possible. Thx. |

Re: 25 NL 56s flopping trips
My thoughts on the turn were that he would certainly call a minraise, but if I call he might go for c/f. Is this strange/bad thinking?
Is calling preflop out of line with sc's in position? |

Re: 25 NL 56s flopping trips
preflop fold all day long!
as played i think you should raise the flop to like 5 and hope he has a T or an overpair. i raise this flop every time. you want to get your stack in the middle. as played to the turn you need to raise the turn harder than that. make it 8 or 9 bucks. he prolly folds to a turn raise tho because your line just screams trips! |

Re: 25 NL 56s flopping trips
You have position on the raiser, but there's still two other with position on you yet to act. Your position isn't really that great tbh. If you were CO or BTN then your position is much better.
Also, you need to reload to $25, unless you want to play as a short stack. In that case, you should be getting your stack in the middle with this hand, and min raising won't cut it. Raise flop for pot, then you have a ~psb on turn so push that in. Easy. |

Raise flop to 7, get it AI on the turn.

Re: 25 NL 56s flopping trips
If you are just going to flat call on the flop, which I think is OK but not great, you need to raise turn ALOT more.
