Beau Rivage question
I tried searching but couldn't find the relevant answers, so I will start a new thread...can someone please tell me what big games run at Beau Rivage and in Biloxi in general? From what I gather it seems that 5/10NL is the big game...does this game run every day? Also it is uncapped, correct? Are there any bigger games during non tournament time obviously? Also, I know this will sound weird but...what is the smallest limit game offered? And finally, what is the poker room rate? Thanks!

Re: Beau Rivage question
When I was there in March, they had 10-25 half PLO/half PLO8 as their biggest game. Almost every hand had the Mississippi straddle going, so it really played more like 25-50.
I didn't see any hold 'em games bigger than 5-10NL running, fwiw. It was uncapped, in fact when I was playing it someone sat down with 15k and started opening for absurd amounts like 2k. |

Re: Beau Rivage question
I've been twice and both times the 2-5 uncapped played way deeper than the 1k 5-10 at Bellagio. The 1-2nl played like an average to small 2-5 game and I saw a 4-8 limit game.
A couple of players were talking about a 10-25 auto 50 on the button PLO game that ran last weekend. Room rate was $70 weekday $90 weekend. GS |

Re: Beau Rivage question
I think I'll be taking my limited bankroll to the Hard Rock when I go down there. What's the softest room in Biloxi before I make any solid decisions?

Re: Beau Rivage question
I played mostly at the Beau in the 1/2 and 2/5 games and I agree that the games were closer to deep 2/5 and 5/10.
The play at the Beau was good. I also played at the IP and it was much more of a donk-fest than the Beau was. |

Re: Beau Rivage question
I agree, the IP is much softer than the Beau. I haven't played at the HR yet.

Re: Beau Rivage question
They are all soft, but the IP and the Hard Rock are def. softer than the Beau. I have seen up to 25-50 NL running at the Beau, just not regularly. I imagine for the Gulf Coast Championship there will be some really big games going.

Re: Beau Rivage question
It looks like you got a lot of answers, but I will recap them. I am in the poker room daily.
Everyday games: 4-8 Limit, 1/2 NL, 2/5 NL Most days: 5/10 NL, 10/20 Omaha 8 or better (especially weekends) Frequently: 10/20 Limit Hold'em, 2/5 or 5/10 Half and half(PL Omaha/ NL Hold'em) 2/5 or 5/10 PLO (frequently with a $25 Straddle) Once or twice a month there is a 10/25 NL, and/or 10/25 half and half, and/or 10/25 PLO Also they will have a 25/50 PLO and some 300 spread limit lo-ball every month or so. The 10/25 games and up are usually quardinated by the players and the staff will know ahead of time if they are coming in on a particular weekend. We don't see much stud, but promotions are on the way, as well as some lower limit Omaha 8 or better promotions. Tournaments The Beau has a wide variety of tournaments ranging from $65 buy ins to $500 buy ins. Every day but Tuesdays. You can find a list of the daily tournaments on the website, just make sure to click on casino first then to poker, then to tournaments. There will be two great Mega Satellites (one August 10th and 24th) The Beau is putting one 10K seat in it and for every 15 paid players will guarantee another seat. Pretty good deal if you ask me! Also you can win a seat into the $500 Satellite by finishing in the top 5 in any one of the daily tournaments in August (until the 23rd). Their tournaments are usually sold out on the weekends but they get 20 to 30 alternates in, they will have over 100 players each weekend. They run a $300 and a $200 tournament with a 15k and 10k guarantee. It is packed. They have really been promoting the Gulf Coast Poker Championship hard and I think there is going to be a great turnout for it. Things just keep getting better and better down here. As for the room rates... 70 weekdays, 90 weekends is correct. Some of us may be spoiled with cheaper room rates, but the rooms at the Beau are worth twice that. Also, it would be hard to find a hotel room anywhere down here for less than $100 a night. The comps are great too! Go to the buffet, a Deli or nice cafe on them! Also, for those who don't want to leave the game, they have tableside service. The food is very good to top! Hope to see you in Biloxi! Give it a try, you will thank me for it. |
