2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
in MP with AK82 (no suit). limper to my right, i limp.
button villain (never played with before) jams in pot raise, we both call. flop 226. bet pot, c/r, or c/call? i put villain on a 2 here so i opted to check call. |

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
Wow toughie...On Bodog it makes it even tougher, don't know if the crappy players get up to playing at the $400 level, but I know at the $100 level I might jam here...
But we'll assume your opponent is reasonably competent...The problem with you hand is that he could have it CRUSHED at this point pretty much "free-rolling" (probably not the right word to use here) you for 3/4...The only thing that would really save you would be a brick/brick or an 8 on the turn...If you put the villian on a 2 I would check-call, but that leaves you in a pretty bad spot on the turn...What are you thinking of if a non-A/8 low comes on the turn? Can you continue with this hand if a 3,4,5 comes? |

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
With three aces and only one deuce unaccounted for, I think it's a fair bit more likely that your opponent has AAxx rather than A2wx. Preflop pot-raise also tends to point in that direction (not that many people wouldn't also pot the A2wx hand). I would probably bet/fold here.

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
well what turned out happening is that i check/called psb.
turn comes 6. he insta pots the turn and i just couldnt give him credit. i thought there was a decent chance my low draw was good, given that i put him on a2xx. he had everything....aa36. i got stacked. i wasnt too disappointed except for my flop play. |

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
It's hard to give him credit for having a boat once that second six comes up, and certainly not a six. I don't think your flop play was that bad, just make sure you have a plan for the later streets instead of going into call down mode or folding everytime you don't hit the turn.

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
first of all, give stack sizes. it's hard to answer your question without stack sizes.
i'd either check raise the flop or lead it, depending on my opponent, and i'd usually lean towards check raising with normal 100BB stacks. |

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
stacks were buyin size. villain might have had 600, had me covered either way.

Re: 2/4 plo8 bodog OOP
I'll probably check. Man in the middle rule for me. Give villian chance to bet and other limper chance to act. Yields the most amount of information. Given the nature of the game, the other limper could actually have had a better hand then the villian. Villian on button vs two limpers. Can have a wide variety of hands and not necessary a low drawing hand. While other limper probably has some type of two way hand.
I don't mind if it gets checked around either. Good for pot control. |
