It's definitely true (Brodie wouldn't make it up), and beyond ridiculous--offensive.

I first gambled in Las Vegas in 1974. My parents started going there in 1953. I haven't been back since 1990. This is one reason why. The mob ran Las Vegas much better than the corporations.
Brodie should call and seek permission to play in the WSOP only. |

[ QUOTE ]
.. The mob ran Las Vegas much better than the corporations... [/ QUOTE ] That's not an empty statement. The corporations have changed the entire concept of gambling. No thanks to Harrah's, gambling is largely a "smoke and mirrors" gimmick. In the old days, if a group of people went to Vegas, they did so with the (correct) notion, that at least one of the group, was going to "hit it big"--and someone would! You KNEW someone was going to hit for five grand or more, gambling on whatever. After the joints, messed up blackjack, it's been all down hill. All those newer table games are ripoffs. |

That makes little sense. I guess if the cost of comps was more than their potential profit, but they control all the factors.
Hopefully this will become a big deal, but I doubt it. |
