$10NL SB Preflop Question
Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.10 BB (6 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com
MP ($5.89) CO ($12.65) Button ($9.10) Hero ($11.69) BB ($9.45) UTG ($6.85) Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG calls $0.10, MP calls $0.10, CO calls $0.10, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $0.4</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG calls $0.30, MP calls $0.30, CO calls $0.30. Flop: ($1.70) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font> <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $1.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">UTG raises to $6.2</font>, MP calls $5.49 (All-In), CO folds, Hero folds. Turn: ($14.89) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font> River: ($14.89) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players, 1 all-in)</font> Final Pot: $14.89 My main question here is the preflop raise. Yes TT is a strong hand but with 3 limpers collective they are going to have numerous over cards and they are likely to flop an over pair. Should I call here simply for set value or do we like the raise into 3 others who are most likely calling any medium sized raised. (they are 42/10 and button was 40/9 but sample size is small) What about the continuation bet? standard? |

Re: $10NL SB Preflop Question
Make your raise larger preflop, use the formual 4XBB+BB per limper. So your raise here should have been to like .70 with the money already in the pot.
That being said in a multi-way pot when you are first to act and an overpair flops like this, you should probably just check and see the action. Leading out into 3 others here when we miss the flop is recipe for losing monies |

Re: $10NL SB Preflop Question
preflop raise more. 0.70 or 0.80c is good. You can raise even more against those loose oponents.
The reason you raise big preflop is because you most likely have the best hand here. None of the other players has shown strengh, and you want to win the hand right there or at least cut down the field. If some still call you will be cutting their implied odds in the case they are holding a smaller pocket pair, suited connector, random cards etc. .. continuation bets depends on number of oponents that are still in the hand when flopping and board texture. If HU or 3way I would still continuation bet with a Ace or broadway on the board. |
