What was your biggest email [censored] up? Seriously kill me now.
Please post stories about the biggest time you [censored] up using email. For example, replying all instead of to one person, replying to the wrong person, flaming someone out when you shouldn't have, etc. Preferelably you got/or got someone fired/killed/arrested/train wreck.
It will make me feel better. Here is mine from tonight: I am going through my loads of unread backlogged emails and come across an email about a $20,000 donation that was made to my non-profit organization at school. I reply back to my vice-president and say "Hey, did we ever follow up and send thank you letters for this donation?" I don't realise my mistake, until I recieve an hour later an email from the head of the donating organization "No you didn't...." Apparently I sent it to the HEAD OF THE DONATING ORGANIZATION INSTEAD OF OUR VICE-PRESIDENT. [censored] [censored] BITCH [censored]. [censored] ME. |

Re: What was your biggest email [censored] up? Seriously kill me now.
Havent made any email mistakes but IMing has provided some funny instances at work.
Most recently there was a group IM conversation with several coworked just shooting the breeze. So i decided to add a coworker to the conversation by asking him what he thought we should do to initiate the new guy. Him not knowing there were multiple people including the new guy in the conversation replies with "RAW ANAL". it was rather funny! |

OP, if that's your absolute worst you are in no trouble. I'll bet it made the receiver even chuckle a little if they have a sense of humor.

I accidentally hit reply-to-all instead of reply to a coworker who was leaving a job and asked him where he was going because I planned on quitting too.
That email was sent to roughly 80 people including my supervisor, my trainer, and the head of the patent office. Within about 3 seconds I heard almost every door simultaneously open up down the hall. That was fun. |

On msn, when I was young and nubbish, this girl I really liked started dating a douchebag (standard). I was talking to another guy about how much I liked her and what a douchebag this new boyfriend was...except halfway through my speel I ended sending all the messages to her instead of him. Whoops

I'm a happy and literate drunk. |

That doesn't seem all that awful. If nothing else, it shows you were thinking about them and wondering if you had gone and done the right thing.
