$650 WSOP Sat moved to Saturday permanently?
Saw that the $650 WSOP sat is running on Saturday this week. At first I thought they added one, but then I saw that the Sunday $650 is not running this week. Is this a permanent move, so that they don't compete with the other Sunday events?

Re: $650 WSOP Sat moved to Saturday permanently?
Hi folks...
The $650 WSOP Qualifier is indeed now on Saturdays, replacing the $320 which was previously on the same day at (roughly) the same time. We discussed this move quite a bit, and decided to pull the trigger on it once EPT Monte Carlo satellites ended. There are many advantages to the new day/time; to name a few: <ul type="square">[*]does not force players to choose between the biggest weekly online poker tournament in the world (the Million) and attempting to win a WSOP seat [1] [*]welcomes our European friends into the big qualifier of the week without requiring them to begin play at 11pm (UK) or midnight (CET) on Sunday night (more players; bigger field; more seats) [*]with it on Saturday, starts early enough that it will very likely end at a reasonable hour[/list]As with anything we do, we absolutely welcome your feedback on this subject. If you wish to comment on this and would write to us, we would appreciate it very much. Simply write to support@pokerstars.com with your concern, comment, etc... and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible. If you add something like "Tourney Scheduling" to your subject line, it will make things easier for whoever gets to it first. Alternatively, you can post here, and we'll see that as well. I'm sure you guys have noticed by now that we read the forums. All the best, Bryan S. Just want to state that I absolutely hate this idea. I'll probably have more later.

does not force players to choose between the biggest weekly online poker tournament in the world (the Million) and attempting to win a WSOP seat [1] [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [1] not everyone multi-tables, y'know [/ QUOTE ] I think you have a better chance at getting people to play 2 tournaments at the same time then you do getting them to play 2 tournaments that take as long as those two do on back to back days. I would have probably played almost every $650 from now until you stopped running them but I'd be surprised if I play more than 2-3 now (out of what 18). Also the fact that you didn't at least replace it with a $320 at the same time is pretty bad. I'll be emailing Stars. |
