Re: Should I have been mad? I was!!!!!
[ QUOTE ]
always love advice [/ QUOTE ] Raise pre-flop. Bet out on flop. If he's still with you then and rivers his 2 pair to catch up then you can be upset although you should also be happy he was willing to get his chips in when all indications from your betting were that he was beat. The passive way you played the hand pre-flop gave him hope that he was good. The c/r on the flop was the only indication that he might not be. |

Re: Should I have been mad? I was!!!!!
I thought in early position its ok to hide a AK hand. Your saying he might not believe I had an ace because I showed no pre flop strength. So is it ever ok to walk in early with AK or just rarely ok?

Re: Should I have been mad? I was!!!!!
I don't mind postflop, and I like checkraising the flop rather than leading out.
The preflop limp/call with AK is not good. Maybe playable with AA/KK, but AK is too vulnerable. Open raising is standard. Limping isn't terrible, but you need to limpreraise. You don't mind if villain folds to the limpreraise. You obviously confused villain as played and got your money in a huge favorite. Bad luck with the river. The limp/call is not all the bad, but it tends to lead to situations like this where you win or lose a big pot. |

Re: Should I have been mad? I was!!!!!
Thanks I am starting to see how he might have thought about me. One thing is, I was chip leader and had always shown down great hands and had not lost a hand yet. I thought he would back off. Great post
