PREFLOP: When you have AJ in the BB...
nl200 6max
6 players All stacks are 100bb deep. Folded around to the button who raises for 3.5x the bb. You have AJo in the BB, do you fold, call or reraise? |

Re: PREFLOP: When you have AJ in the BB...
I mostly reraise, maybe 80:20 reraise to call. But it depends a lot on who button is, sometimes I will even muck.

RR/fold. I don't like calling as much. 70:20:10 in RR/fold/call.

Call is silly methinks.
Fold/Reraise X%/Y% depending on reads/stats/history. |

[/ QUOTE ] Im new to NL Cash but calling leaves you playing a flop oop agaisnt a pf aggressor with AJo. You dont hit a pair that often and no flush draw possibilities. Leaves you in a tough position imo. |

Why be so anxious to take the initiative with a hand like AJo that misses the flop 2/3 of the time like any other two cards. - Your going to be in a tough position whether you reraise or not. OOP is a tough position by definition except when you flop a monster. A hand like AA, KK, to a lesser extent QQ etc., and to some extent AK, mitigates the toughness of being OOP but not many other hands do to a significant degree. |

Now let's pretend that you aren't running supernova hot. seriously, why do you reraise? To take down the pot? Or because people 3-bet so much these days that the villain is likely to call you much weaker? What about the [censored] reverse implied odds? |
