AA on a paired board
BB in this hand seemed like someone who wasn't exactly stupid, but he was a predictable tricky. He's a 33/7/1.44. My notes on him read as follows:
"Seems like he bets really small with huge hands, and really big with weak ones. Way way overplayed a hand with weak top pair and no drawing outs." MP3 has just sat down and posted this hand and I have no PT info on him, total unknown. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Hero ($292.15) UTG+1 ($277.20) UTG+2 ($190.50) MP1 ($137.40) MP2 ($190.80) MP3 ($200) CO ($213.18) Button ($79.47) SB ($127.86) BB ($312.31) Preflop: Hero is UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. BB's overcall on the flop was scary as hell to me...a lot more scary than MP3's call, I had him on a very wide range that will sometimes include a T but not always. BB's call looked bad for me. My intention was to check the turn, expecting to see MP3 bet, BB call or raise, and I would fold. Then when BB folded I wasn't sure, cause as I said, I had MP3 on a pretty wide range here. - C - |

Re: AA on a paired board
Call and block river for $55 isnt a terrible option. Obviously fold to a push. I hate letting this go but obviously if the other guy gets involved your hand is pretty much done.

[/ QUOTE ] If it's bet-call on the turn I don't think twice about folding. Why's it an obvious fold to a push? At 3/6 or 5/10 where people don't overplay their hands as often it makes it tougher. But if he pushes that river (assuming I call the turn) then I'm gonna have to call about $110 for a pot with about $335 in it. Those are really attractive odds and I don't think it's odd at all to see in NL 1/2 someone bet ai on the river with virtually any pp. I haven't figured out if these guys think it's a bluff or a value bet (cause they think I'd call with AK or lower pair or something), but I see it happen a lot. Odds to play my stack here are that I think I've gotta be good 36% of the time. River even less when he bets. Does that warrant a fold? Legit questions, I'm not saying it's not...I'm curious of the logic behind it. - C - |
