Two stoxtrader hands
In his 5/10 (6-max) video:
HAND 1: Stoxtrader open raises in the CO with Ah 7h and gets called only by the big blind. The big blind donks a Qc 5c Th flop and stoxtrader folds, but says he would have raised if the flop were Qc 5c 2h instead. HAND 2: Stoxtrader open raises in the CO with As 3s and gets called only by the big blind. The flop is Jh Ts 2h and he says that if he gets checkraised he will certainly have to peel because big blind could be checkraising with a draw. What are your thoughts on these two hands and your reasoning? Thanks, Cartman |

Re: Two stoxtrader hands
I like the first idea better. In addition to your two back door draws... you will often have 6 outs for overs if actually behind.
The second one, not sure about. You do have two back door draws and an Ace, but your Ace could be a dirty out to a draw...so you may actually not want to hit it. Also J, and Ts would be be pretty popular cards to defend with. I think it could be a close peel, but I'd probably fold without a read. |

Re: Two stoxtrader hands
Regarding hand 2, I also have the same question. Seems like a standard flop fold if you get checkraised there. I don't understand what you're "peeling" for - low non-hearts?

Re: Two stoxtrader hands
I agree with both of his thoughts but for the second one I think he is guilty of applying his 300/600 logic to a 5/10 game.

Re: Two stoxtrader hands
what, people don't check/raise draws in 5/10? or are you alluding to something else?

Re: Two stoxtrader hands
On Hand2, a semibluff checkraise is getting followed by an autobet on the turn. You'll have to fold. With these (5/10) assumptions, peeling is incorrect.

Oops, I did some quick math. Flop peel is fine, even with these assumptions.

[/ QUOTE ] I don't remember the exact hand, but im certainly not auto-folding on the turn unimproved. In my games I'm often calling down with ace high. |
