Default why would HORSE produce a more skillful final table?

I think it would but mainly because of its combined upopularity and high buy-in. OTOH, HORSE is a limit game, which has more variance than no limit.

Perhaps because it takes more OVERALL poker-skill to be able to play all those different games. whereas a medicore overall poker player can still be fairly decent at JUST NL hold-em.

I think guys like Greenstein and Sklansky would love a tournament involving a new, weird poker game with a strange structure that nobody is familiar with. They are better overall poker players and would be much more likely to determine the best strategies for it more quickly.

For a similar reason, I think the more skilled players have a better chance to excel in a mixed-game too.

Then again, didn't Fischman win the last WSOP HORSE event in 2004?

I think the mixed games bracelet winners at WSOP since 2000 are Pham, Doyle, Ferguson, Ivey, Heimiller, Daniel.

Even if it were a $500 buyin instead of 50K I think its almost certain a big name would win, just due to experience. Can't go all in before the flop in razz.

You clearly haven't played no limit razz.

You on the other hand clearly never played razz at all. Razz has no flop.

Stack depth also. 50K chips and a limit structure. 250 BB and the comparable in the ante games, in a limit game, for Round 1 vs 200 BB in a NL game in the main event. Effectively 200 minute levels (40 minutes x 5) but the blinds move up a little faster than the ME.

The sarcasm is so thick in here, I'm beginning to question where it starts and where it ends.
