Default Playing against a frequent PF RRer

These guys are pretty rare, but they can create some real headaches, especially when you are OOP. How should we be reacting to these frequent re-raisers preflop? Lets say they RR with suited connectors, pairs and any 2 broadway cards, how can we best take advantage of these players?

Some food for thought:

How should we be playing AA,KK?

Smaller pocket pairs?

Suited Connectors? (if at all?)

How about some postflop plans?

Thanks in advance for your input, this is a fairly meaty question.

I think it depends on how well they play post flop. Most of these guys then overplay top pair or just go to far trying to steal a pot with anything.

you mean he reraises very often preflop?

off the top of my head, I would open a lot less often when I am out of position to him.

My advice is to PFR less often, and be willing to 3-bet (or push depending on the stack sizes) with any hand that you do.

assuming you're oop to him. tighten your raising range, loosen your 4-betting range (SLIGHTLY!). You're going to get pushed out with hands like SCs and small PPs, so limp call instead of trying to open with them (assuming he'll pay you off).

Assuming me are dealing with a maniacal player and not a very good player.

I play AA and KK fast and try it get all in preflop.

I play suited connectors when stacks are deep and I am in position to end the action preflop. Which means either calling or limp calling with them. Small pairs I play basically the same way. I never get in a war thinking I'm pushing a small edge against overs.

Post flop, because I'm not likely to be able to intimidate my opponent, I'm looking for a big edge and am playing according to the stregnth of my cards.

From guys like this that I've seen, they're entire game is very aggressive.

I'm looking to play a lot of hands.

I'll probably limp all of my hands, and call his raise to get to a normal level. The only exception to this would be AA, KK where I'm looking to bump heads and get all in preflop.

I'm looking to trap and try to induce bluffs.

this is all good advice, thanks a lot guys, there are a few guys in my home 1-2 and 2-5 games that are just maniacal preflop, and giving me tons of trouble.

The game plays short stacked to start and deeper as the night progresses, should i be pushing with medium pp's early trying to crack them or waiting til later to trap them when fairly deep?
