question about upcoming WPT event
I'm planning on playing in a preliminary $500 WPT event in early May in Vegas. Does anyone have any information about how long the rounds are or how the structure works in general? I'm trying to plan on how long the whole event might take (three of my friends are playing with me) and there's seemingly no info online.

Did you call the Bellagio? I imagine if you spoke to the poker room they would know.

My experience with hitting their poker room up for info has historically been unsuccessful, but I guess I SHOULD give that a shot, huh |

Re: question about upcoming WPT event
Structure kind of sucks though
60 minute rounds, 1,000 starting chips, blinds start at 25/50 (WTF?!?!?!?!?) Talk about a total crapshoot early. Ugh. |

Re: question about upcoming WPT event
so LAG it up. Go big or go home. Push your edges, and that includes spots where you're probably behind but have enough FE to make it +EV. Or close.

[/ QUOTE ] Wish I would have taken this advice when I played my $1K buy-in NLH tourney on the PPM Cruise. Nah, instead I decided that folding KK on a board of 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] was the wiser move. That is a terrible structure though. |

[/ QUOTE ] Starting with 20 big blinds means that after the first three rounds I'll be light 1/3rd of my stack if I just post and fold. This is really not a good play in my opinion. I can't believe that the WPT/Mirage cannot offer a better/deeper structure than this for a $500 tournament. Why don't we just shoot dice instead for the money? |

Wow, that sucks.
Borgata open 500$ had 3K in chips with the same levels. Seriously, 20xBB to start. I wouldnt spend 500$ for that |
