I wanted to go out with this girl, Shirley, I met briefly in class last year but ran into again this year. Last year I was unable to get to know her that well because I was seeing a girl and we had our own separate friends in that class. I bumped into her randomly with her good friend, Rachel, last semester. We hit it off pretty well, but I neglected to get her number because she was always with Rachel, and I was a wuss.

This semester I have many classes with Rachel, who's a really friendly girl who is married. She mentions how she's turning 27 soon, and that Shirley is 30 years old. At worst, I thought she was 24.
