Tips for falling asleep/Staying awake
I go to a B&M at graveyard hours sometimes, and I like to try and get some sleep for safetys sake before I go.
I might go to sleep at 10pm and wake at 1am and drive an hour away. Then I will play for some time and drive back. The problem is, I find it hard to just fall asleep at 10 or so, chalk it up to Circadian Rythms. Any tips for approaching this? Such topics as how to space out my sleep, how to fall asleep easier, how to stay awake sharper once driving back. Cheers |

Re: Tips for falling asleep/Staying awake
Be a real man and do what I did for a little while and learn how to Polyphase. Google Polyphasic sleep cycle. And none of that schoolgirl Uberman crap, hXc polyphasing. Wiki has good articles on it.

Re: Tips for falling asleep/Staying awake
pop a xanax when you want to sleep. then when you need to wake up crush up some ritalin and snort it up your nose. or set an alarm for 30 minutes before you need to get up, take adderol and go back to sleep and youll wake up 30 min later.

Re: Tips for falling asleep/Staying awake
Interesting man I'm scoping it out, I'll read more later. My goal is to just start sleeping on demand, rather than limit overall sleep though.

Re: Tips for falling asleep/Staying awake
My mom was an RN who worked 11-7 for many years, and probably used every trick in the book (short of drugs and booze) to sleep during the daytime.
The most important thing for her was a dark, quiet room. There is a reason casino hotels have blackout drapes. You can buy blackout miniblinds (pricier than regular ones), blackout liners for drapes (JCPenny Homestore and catalogue has those) and blackout windowshades. The latter is the least attractive, but the cheapest of the options. Can probably find them at Walmart. Somestimes just closing draperies over miniblinds can do the trick....really depends which direction your bedroom windows face. Total darkness can lull the body and mind into night mode, and make falling asleep much easier. If daytime noise is a problem, try "white noise." You don't have to buy a fancy machine that makes ocean and rain sounds....just turn on a simple box fan. Even running on low, it masks a lot of noise. These ideas are pretty simple and low tech, but perhaps they will help. |
