Default Late Tournament Weak Ace?

I have T32k, Villain has T30k. Blinds are 1k-2k.

Villain just limped into a pot on the button and folded to a raise. He limped here in cutoff.

I'm in SB with A2o. I complete, BB checks.

Flop is AQ10, two diamonds. I have no diamond.

Thoughts on where to go from here?

Fire out a 5k bet and you probably take it down.
Fold to a push or a big reraise.

Shut down if a Diamond hits the turn, fire out 7k more if not.

I would check/call the flop and reevualate on the turn. I don't like betting out OOP with a medium strength hand. Check to the raiser.

I might fold preflop to avoid this dillemma. With A2o, what kind of flop are you going to feel confident with?

Well, I was reasonably certain the CO was not limping with a bigger ace, so I felt an ace would be good, although I think folding pf isn't bad either.

As it happened, I checked, CO bet out 5k...thoughts?

cant u answer that yourself?

You said yourself that you felt he didnt have a bigger ace. Therefore you're only scared of two pair or straight, niether of which would usually bet out like that.

As for where you're at right now. I guess you're going to reraise here, sink or swim.

Preflop: My initial thoughts were fold preflop since you can hit the ace and still lose your hand.

Flop: I would have bet 5k on flop and hopefully that would of taken it down and got me some information.

Yeah, I ended up check-raising all in. He called with Q10 for bottom two, and essentially ended my tournament.

I guess folding pf was the best way to go.

very unlucky for him to have that, and if I made the mistake of getting into this situation, I would pay him off as well.

Why didn't he have a bigger ace? I lot of people will limp with Axs in that situation. Donks will limp with any ace. They just can't fold an ace. He could also be limping with 2 aces. A lot of people do that in late position.

I agree that a typical decent player is more likely to have a small pair, a suited connector, or broadway cards.
