Re: overpair on scary board
id 4bet and get it in pf in CO vs BTN, i might c/shove flop since kj, aj and qj might make up some of his range for 3betting from btn to co, plus any flush draw isnt folding prob. But as played id c/f turn. c/calling flop to c/shove a blank turn isnt bad but there r a decent amount of scare cards so its not great.

Re: overpair on scary board
cool, nice response. yeah, i guess 4 bet is standard here? i read some post about the default play here being to just call, but it probably wasn't co v but. flop seems too passive, too. i was kind of thinking during the hand that i wouldnt get called by any worse hands, but you are right, a jack is probably calling, plus draws. i think the play is to get it on the flop.
as for turn, he could still have draws (or QQ, maybe even mid pp?), but still a fold? |

[/ QUOTE ] draws will usually check behind on turn, especially since its not unreasonable that u could have a jack, i wouldnt even be surprised if qq checked behind (even if it didnt, calling to chop against a combinatoricallly unlikely hand isnt great) and without a read stating otherwise id assume mid pps check behind. |
