FT - TQs - bluff called and minichips left...
For tonight's lesson...
Final table of a 45 plyr MTT. I have played with one of the others since early in the tournament. I have been playing solid/aggressive, and almost all my showdowns have been wins, mostly premium ones like AA, full houses, etc. I had been leading for the majority of the tournament, but a suckout a few hands back took about 1/2 my chips. Blinds are 500/1000 and I'm starting to worry about my chip count relative to the blinds. Full Tilt Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1 (4 handed) Hand History converter Courtesy of PokerZion.com SB (t7200) BB (t21940) UTG (t26165) Hero (t12195) Preflop: Hero is Button with T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. UTG calls t1000, Hero raises to t3000, 2 folds, UTG calls t2000. Flop: (t6001.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG checks, Hero bets t5000, UTG raises to t22000, Hero ??? So what I was thinking here was that TQs is a decent enough short handed to make a std. raise. Should I have pushed right from the beginning? After the flop I'm betting more my image than my cards... I know the inside straight is a long shot, but I'm thinking that the flop could scare him away. After his raise, if I fold I've got about 4.5k left. I am interested in opinions on how I got here, but also validating that 4xBB is so bad 4 handed at the final table that I'm making the right choice to push after the raise, regardless of how I got here. Thanks again! |

QTs is a SD/FD type of hand. Why raise a limper when you can limp in yourself and possibly take a cheap flop? You could still possibly be heads up vs. SB should he move in.
If you intend to be AI on this hand, do it preflop. As played, check the flop and see if you turn a J, preferably not the J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Move in if it comes & c/f if not. |

Re: FT - TQs - bluff called and minichips left...
i woulda shoved that preflop. there is enough in there that it will be pretty darn healthy for your stack and the fold equity is huge. youre pretty much never getting called and QTs plays well against a calling range anyways.
