Default A8o NL 100, flop 2 pair, wtf on the turn

No reads on the guy, seems decent but a bit too passive. Now on to the hand. I flop two pair and value bet it happily until something funky happens on the turn. What the hell could he do this with? What's the best approach here?

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (5 handed) Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($127.40)
SB ($97.50)
BB ($104.05)
UTG ($59)
MP ($105.90)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 8, A.
2 folds, Hero raises to $3.5, 1 fold, BB calls $2.50.

Flop: ($7.50) 8, A, Q 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $4, BB calls $4.

Turn: ($15.50) 6 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $9</font>, BB raises to $25

kind of weird. maybe he's floating you, but you said he seemed passive. this does look like a set or AQ...

he's got like 75 behind now? i might call and hope to get a cheap showdown - if he bets river i'd fold.

does anyone think there's any chance this is a lower 2 pair? that and a bluff is about all we beat, now that i think about it. that would seem to indicate a fold on the turn.

ummm 1 combo of possible sets and a few of AQ, but A6 is way more likely.

if i pushed now it would be because I thought the guy could call with A10 or AJ... if not, I'd call, push most rivers.

OP describes the villain as "a bit too passive." would he really c-r on turn with AT or AJ? i agree A6 is a likely hand. that actually makes the most sense. a PP would probably be 66 or QQ given that you have an A and an 8, but QQ would prolly reraise pf and 66 shouldn't be calling flop.

i dunno. i think it's close between call/fold on turn. i could see an argument with calling turn and hoping for a cheap river, and i can also see folding, given that the only worse hand i see a "passive" opponent raising is A6. i dont think we should push though - will he really fold better hands or call with worse ones?

edit: ike, why do you call turn and push river if you don't think he'll call turn with AT or AJ?

guys who "seem too passive" often get frisky too, they just dont think about when or what they are repping...folding this here is disasterous. At least call to see river / timing / bet size

Ok, so I call the check-raise, river is a blank (deuce of hearts or something). The villain bets almost the size of the pot (huge raise) very quickly.

What now?

I think its more likely he has AQ than A6 given PF action and our read.
