Default Line check vs tilting spewtard

Villain took a bad beat a few hours ago, since then he has been buying in to 5 BB and playing wreckless. Lots of pre flop 3 betting, flop 3 betting and turn folding.

Full Tilt 3/6 Hold'em (5 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG raises, 3 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG 3-bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.75 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds.

Final Pot: 5.75 BB

i cap/lead when they do this. if i had seen him make bad raises vs turn donks after 3betting flop then maybe i'd forgo capping to get him to do what he likes. thing is, only way id see this is if someone else c/r/c flop, donk turn vs. him - and the hand goes to showdown. i don't know if i've ever seen this.

I don't get the point of the bet. Cap flop or checkraise turn seems better if you're looking for more value, unless you can 3-bet if he raises here.
