Default AT top pair vs idiot

Full Tilt Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players

BTN: $48.30
SB: $26.80
BB: $24.95
UTG: $139.75
Hero (MP): $24.55
CO: $10

Pre-Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (MP)
UTG calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.10, 2 folds, SB calls $1, BB folds, UTG calls $0.85

Flop: ($3.55) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 Players)
SB checks, UTG bets $1.25, Hero calls $1.25, SB folds

UTG bets $3, Hero calls $3

River: ($12.05) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
UTG bets $8, Hero ....

Villain is around 40/25. He's pretty bad - a few hands back he raised from the CO and called my r/r from the button with J7s.

Did you not reraise the flop because you weren't sure if you were ahead, or because you wanted him to keep betting?

I don't see any reason the raise the flop with a board like this. It's not that drawy, and we only have a pair of tens.

Why bloat the pot?

I raise this flop all day. You said how loose this guy is, calling with J7s and his stats portray that. This flop definitely IS drawy enough against a guy who could have anything. Also you raise for value here, this guy could think top pair = nuts. I guess as played call river because he really could have anything.

Because by your description you're playing against a loose guy who is likely to be calling with hands that are drawing quite slim here. Besides, he'll frequently check the turn to you after you raise the flop anyway, so it's not like it's going to be hugely more expensive if you're looking to play pot control.

Now that you didn't raise the flop I fold unless he is over aggro

This guy could also have something like A6 but more likely KT-8T. I'm raising this flop all day based on the stats and the suited trash he's calling raises with.
