NL25: Villain overbet river after I give up
Reads are, I am super aggro at table but haven't shown down too much since people call to river then give up. So my question is will this be a bluff or AT,AJ,JT enough for me to make a profitable call since he overbet the pot? I think the only hand I am truly worried about him having is some kind of 8 but he was pretty decent so I don't think he will be calling PF with hands like K8 but might with hands like 98,87.

When did you give up? Even though I do bet 1/2 pot on the turn, the check here is fine IMO. As played, fold the river.

Re: NL25: Villain overbet river after I give up
I'm absolutely baffled as to why you would check the turn if your image is super aggro without showing down. There are many more PPs and flush draws in his range on the flop than 8's. I think you are missing tons of value by checking behind.
I also think that you are now compelled to call the river after checking the turn. If he did have an 8, he likely would have c/r you on the turn, so you would have lost at most 4.60 on the turn instead of 6.50 on the river. |

Either way not betting it was awful especially with the image I had at the table. |
