$600 NL Cash Two pair on the river
onluy 10 or so hands in, so reads. villain called me down prevoiusly with mid pair and a draw, so he's not real aggr.
i'm a regular on the site and never seen villain before, so i wouldn't guess he's a tricky/thinking player. full stacks, not that it matters. Pot is limped, hero with K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Flop is 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hero checks, villain bets $12 hero calls Turn: Pot $36 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] check, vilain bets $30, hero calls River: $95 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Hero hits 2 pair and leads for $65. Villain donk raises. I don't see what villain can be donk raising with except a flush. I wouldn't think he limps 88/TT on the button |

Re: $600 NL Cash Two pair on the river
This is a fold except if it is a minraise in which case I curse and pay off. I also wouldn't check the flop, I would bet the flop and play aggressive on all streets. I sometimes c/r here too, but early in the match without any history beetween you and a villain, I would bet. Your passive line is not bad either because there is a lot of cards to be afraid of on future streets. But against described villain I prefer a bet because you are not afraid that he will raise you on a draw.
However, the way you played it is a fold. |

Re: $600 NL Cash Two pair on the river
I like c/c infinitely better than leading river. His pay-off hand range is pretty small, KJ+, and you are squeezing out any chance villain bluffs or value bets a worse hand.
As played I call, you're getting like 4 to 1, and unless you have a read that villain only raises/minraises super super strong, this could be worse two pair. EDIT: Uggg, this really can't be a worse two pair. Imma change my answer to fold. |

Re: $600 NL Cash Two pair on the river
i folded it. i led river just because i didn't want a king checking behind on the river. i feel one of my weaknesses is not capitalizing on better hands.

Re: $600 NL Cash Two pair on the river
Don't get in these situations, find out where you stand earlier. You have a few options including leading the flop or donking the turn, don't wait until the river to do this because you get in a tough spot.
