Default $10 - Early On - To All-in or Not to All In.

This will not be a specific hand question; but here is the set up..

5th hand of tourney I get QQ and raise 3x and get re-raised about 2.5x. I think about flat call; but decide to push anyway and get called by AK and lose coin toss. No big deal happens alot. The funny thing is the very next hand, I get AK and put in the rest of my chips. AK guy from above raises and we go heads up and he flips over QQ and again outraces me and I'm out. Pretty funny, eh?

I say all of that to say this. I'm sure that this has been discussed before. How many people are just calling with QQ to the reraise. Obviously, you are only really afraid of AA, KK or AK. In the brief moment that you have to think about it, I decided the best play was to push as I believe (even in $10 SNGs) that people are going to fold more often than not and my Queens are only really big dogs to AA or KK.

After further review, I still believe that letting the chips fly is OK.

Thoughts?

I'm afraid of EVERYTHING even my shadow at that stage in the game. BUT - I will push with QQ (not JJ). It's the only way to play it.

there are a lot of detail missing in the hand...primarily what I'm most interested in is position.

Again, this wasn't meant to be to hand specific; but in the hand above I was out of position as an UTG+2 raiser and I believe it was either cutoff or button that re-raised me.

Webster.. that was also my thought process. It stopped with QQs. I would have folded JJ.

So what you are saying, position should be one of the deciding factors here?

IF I was early I would put in a 4x bet to make sure I do not get many callers . . . if any! QQ early - yuch.

Also - remember - I am all for being a total weak baby early in a tournament. If I can make it to t100 with 1000 chips I'm comfortable!

I'll take a few stabs at hands early but unless I'm 100% sure I'm in survive mode. I have been known to fold QQ early rather then get sucked into a pot with more then one person. With QQ I do NOT want to see that flop! Rather then pushing I'll make it know that if the other guy wants to see the flop he will be committed!

I'll save 300 chips as a life line if needed. You can come back with 300.

QQ is the devil hand! I hate it early!

BTW - Pretty funny. yea! good one :-) grrrrrrrrr
