First let me say, I think this is a call in most situations w/ premium overpairs and I think It's a fold w/ hands like 99 or TT. However, there aren't a lot of NL100 posts latley, so maybe this will get some discussion going... I think the first and most important step in these situations is to think about specific reads you have on said opponent, consult notes, and think of past history. Secondly, I think we need to identify what type of TAG this player is, whether they are onthe tighter side of the spectrum (14/7 12/8) or whether they are on the looser more agresive side of TAGS (16/12,18/14). and Finally, I think we need to asses our image. Are we more likely to comprise his range mostly of sets if he is on the tighter side of the TAG spectrum? And can we add hands like mid pairs up to TT into the range of the looser and more agressive TAGs? What about hands like JJ-AA, what role do you think hands like that play in thier range? More weighted to JJ-QQ then AA/KK? 45? Ever air? Or, again is this too broad and player dependent then just having a general rule of thumb to go by here? How would you play TT here? What about KK? Also, how would you play a hand like 45s? What about a hand like A5, is our A good sometimes, do we have any fold equity w/ a raise here vs some of his mid pairs and JJ-QQ? Or are those hands not enough of his range to make a raise here? |

I'm calling with pretty much everything I'm continuing with (overpairs/sets/54).
Folding A5/A4. |

I think 99 is a fold. TT is borderline, and everything else above that (along with sets and draws) is a call.

[/ QUOTE ] It sounds like you're calling with 99, so what's your plan for any non-nine turn? Fold to any bet and bet if checked to? |

good post, I feel this is one of my most uncomfortable spots.
I think because of that I usually end up folding everything but premium hands. I am troubled by good players leading into me like this, but in general I think they are pretty strong. |

I know if they are reasonably good they will continue if they have decided to be agg here so I don't like calling just to almost inevitably fold later |
