stop raising?! SH
I was thinking about this hand and I really can't find a reason to stop reraising, I put him on 4flush on 4th, then trips on 5th and 6th, maybe I made a mistake rasing 7th again but could you figure what he is holding that I wouldnt have beat?

Re: stop raising?! SH
I was able to guess your opponent's hole cards. There were other possibilities, of course--a smaller set, pocket Aces, brain damage, etc. But the hand I thought was most likely was what he actually had. From his standpoint, if you have just one pair on fourth, he's a small favorite, so jamming makes a certain amount of sense. And you might not even have a pair. To be sure, a set is a very small percentage of your range. He picks up an additional draw on fifth and raises once more. Notice that he doesn't cap.
So he raises sixth. While it's certainly possible that he was doing the ol' stop-n-go, one might deduce that he improved on sixth. The one plausible hand that improved on sixth is T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Now I don't necessarily say that that must be it right away. He might be jamming with a smaller set, but at some point you have to maybe think that you're beaten. I think that when he four-bets sixth, it's likely enough that you're beaten that you should call down. When he raises the river, I'd just call that. Even if he had just the smaller set, he could have filled. You've been representing a big hand all along, and he keeps raising. However unlikely it might have seemed at first, at some point you have to think that maybe the other guy has you beaten. And raise third for the love of Pete. |
