Default playing marginal hands in position

Anyone have any thoughts on playing marginal hands in position? E.g. calling with QJo OTB from a MP raise? Would you rather fold here PF because these hands can rarely withstand a lot of heat, or do you call knowing that you have to tread carefully? I guess my question is - whats the most +EV way to play marginal hands IP against a raise?

there isn't really a definitive answer to the question, because there are so many variables.

suffice to say if you are wanting to play marginal hands, it is better to play them in pos rather than OOP. it helps if they are suited as well.

me personally, i would usually dump QJo OTB from a MP raise?

i think QJ is the most dominated hand there is so ill be more happy to call a raise with 67s than QJo.
on topic, marginal hands do better in multiway pots raised or unraised cause the pot odds are very good - but only in position!

So, in other words, you think folding QJo is the standard play and that CC raises with marginal hands in position is really -EV against the average open raise (non-multi-way)?

depends on so many things, you aren't going to get a good answer without someone writing an essay.

I prefer to raise, to get information, and to hide my better hands. However, villains stats/ability to fold/position determins whether I do or not. Sometimes I will call some hands to balance out calling with pocket pairs.
