Default Switching to online limit from 2/5 limit B&M

I've been playing 2/5 Limit at a B&M for a few months now and have been fairly successful but I want to move to online poker. What site is the best to start out at? And what limits? (I just bought SSHE and PokerTracker too at the advise of a friend. But I have never read any poker books before:S)

A 2/5 live games does not play like 2/4 - be warned.

2/5 live is prob like .25/.5nl online.

If just starting out I would read all the stickies in uNL and SSNL.

Maybe put 10k hand at .1/.25nl to get the hand of it.

Sign up for RB if you plan on playing on Full Tilt.

Poker Stars is another good site that offers points.

I routinely play 2/3 or 2/2 at B/M's, and find the .05/.10 or .10/.25 equally challenging online. Well, probably more challenging, since the entire range of physical tells is wiped out- and that was my strength.

I am a consistent loser ONLINE at most levels from $50NL all the way to $2,000NL. I am profitable in 3/5 NL playing live usually without fail I'll come out ahead in near every session, sometimes 4x my buy-ins.

Just a warning, hard for me to play online, some are different. You play more hands, take more beats, play more loose because their aren't actually people and chips in front of you live... just my advice. I rarely play online now and I feel much better about my game.

You could try the mini micros at Poker Stars and work your way up but then switch to a softer site when you reach 25c/50c as at a lot of sites this is the minimum.

You're in for a shock.

2/5 live is like .05/.1 online. Not an exaggeration.

I'm a 2/3 no limit player at brick/mortars, and get my butt handed to me at the same limits online. It's a WHOLE NEW WORLD online and 1/2 your information pool (physical tells) are gone.

Best of luck to you. I'm still trying to work this transition out myself (and have lost a few hundred in the process)

So it sounds like online players are MUCH better than B&M players. Thanks for the advice

I'm going to start at 0.05/0.1 limit at Stars and see how I do. I just started reading SSHE too and I heard its ok for online even though it was meant for super loose/passive B&M games.
