Default 25NL - Dazed and Confused

Villain is 23/17 over 100 hands:

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Full Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

BB ($27.45)
UTG ($29.25)
MP ($13.90)
CO ($26.35)
Hero ($35.85)
SB ($19.35)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls $0.25, CO raises to $1.1, Hero calls $1.10, 2 folds, MP calls $0.85.

Flop: ($3.65) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP checks, CO bets $2.75, Hero...?

Question 1: Re-pop PF? I thought if I did that and he 4-bets that really polarizes his hand range, and I might get value out of like AJ or something that he'd fold to a 3-bet if the flop comes A9x or something.

Question 2: What's your line on the flop? I sort of hate shoving, because I don't want to turn my hand into a bluff necessarily, but if I raise and he shoves I'm dead and probably have to call. Still, c/f the flop seems hella weak.

Any opinions? Thanks.

Raise, you'll have your answer then, you may be able to represent a set, straight draw or flush draw...
If he shoves, you'll have lost the minimum..

1: I definitely like a re-pop here, although I find it kind of hard to explain why in theoretical terms. Calling is ok too.

2: Yes, c/r and c/f are both bad most of the time. So c/c is probably the best option. Typically I'd c/c and lead most turns.

I don't usually reraise preflop, but I almost always call or raise on this flop. In this situation i'd probably just call.

Re-pop pf is matter of preference; I call a bigger percentage than I raise.
Why are u talking about showing? Twenty more for him to call in a six dollar pot? Doesn't make sense at all, and a player with those stats (seems decent) won't call with anything that doesn't have u smoked.
A raise here will not make u commited, and u can still fold to a three-bet. But I prefer a call here, sice I think a raise will force CO to play correctly against u; folding all overs and calling or raising all hands that have u beat (except for maybe 77 and 88, but doubt villain would like to play for stacks with those hands). Reeval turn, villain will check a lot of turns here

Calling preflop is position is fine, 99 plays decently and although you should be ahead of his CO opening range against many opponents we'd be in a tough spot if called. I think a flop raise gets played back at only by overpairs and good draws, either way we're prob flipping or way behind (vs. CO). I'd prob call. If SS pushes and CO folds you'll have decent odds vs. his wider range, if CO calls/raises it's a fold for me.

3-bet preflop is an easy, easy decision against this villian plus it pushes out MP most of the time since 99 doesn't play great multi-way. As played, call the flop. Folding is too weak, raising puts you in a bad spot where you really can't commit. Bet almost any turn.

1.) calling on the btn is fine here. you're right about polarizing his hand range, and you don't really want to do that with a hand like 99 that has so much value over the middle portion of his range.

2.)it's impossible to c/f this flop when you have the btn.

call this bet, raising is probably only going to get action from hands that have you drawing to two outs, sets, combo draws, and the random 77/88/naked draw idiot.

reevaluate turn.
