is sportsbook a scam?
I have recently started playing online poker just this month. I am not too good but I enjoy playing at night to relax. My question is has anyone ever had problems with the poker room paying you when you want to pull your money out? I have joined the sportsbook.com site and want to have some confirmation before I do another deposit. So far I have only put on there $40 and played the very low limit games. I have recently also downloaded a lot of ebooks and read guides saying to watch out for cheaters. I know most of this is most likely nonsense but would like to be reassured. The web site that makes me particularly concencered is the operationalgorithm.com saying that the poker sites are sometimes crooked. Thanks for your help.

My question is has anyone ever had problems with the poker room paying you when you want to pull your money out? [/ QUOTE ] As of yet, no. My withdraws have been by WPEX and PartyPoker, by check. Usually when people do have problems, it has to do with the method of withdrawl, not the cardroom. [ QUOTE ] operationalgorithm.com [/ QUOTE ] In general you are safe at any major site. The only significant poker room where there are honest questions about the integrity of the game is Absolute. |

Whats the story with Absolute? [/ QUOTE ] Folks have identified some possible super-users that can see everyone's hole cards. Yes, I know there are stories like this from paranoids practically every day on BBV or NVG, but this was widely discussed and a great many trustable posters saw things that were consistant with a super-user. Now, I could go on to mention that they hit up only the high-stakes games, were discovered quickly, etc. etc. but there are plenty of other reasons not to go to Absolute, like hideous tech support, a Razz game that ranked the cards wrong, and switching the terms of some of their bonuses. I just don't think it's worth the trouble with sites like Full Tilt and PokerStars (and Party Poker, for non-US players), and probably a few others. |

Marcus:
Glad to finally see someone else who plays on SB. I've been playing there for the last 6 weeks and I can tell you that I've never seen any suspicious activity. Yes you will see a few luckboxes once in a while, but they're never consistently winning huge amounts. On the withdrawal side, I haven't yet pulled out any money. However, I have a co-worker who uses the sports gambling side of the site and he had no problem with his withdrawal. HTH -red |
