Imperial Palace Limit Hold \'em
Has anybody recently played any limit hold em at the IP? I'll be staying there this weekend. Has the 4-8 been running? Or has it been mostly 3-6 and the 2-4? Also, are the games as good as they were circa 2005?

2/4 sometimes 3/6. It's basically a 1/2 NL room.

Thanks buddy...I would like to avoid the NL tables this trip. Any suggestions on good low limit games? Any w/ auto-shufflers?

Re: Imperial Palace Limit Hold \'em
Last time I was in IP a couple months ago they had 3 tables of 2/4 and one table of NL had just started. IP's poker room is like a box of chocolates...

Re: Imperial Palace Limit Hold \'em
your best bet for a good SS game is one with auto shufflers OR one where people are acting fairly quickly on their hands. That's gonna have the biggest effect on your hourly. Basically all the players should be pretty abominable in any 4/8 or smaller game on the planet, so don't sweat game selection in terms of player quality. Once in a blue moon, you'll see a tight table, or you'll see a loose table that is "schooling", i.e. they are all copying eachother like fish swimming, so they will all limp, or all fold. It's truly weird business.

Re: Imperial Palace Limit Hold \'em
Casinos within a ten minute walk of IP that have limit 2-4 to 4-8 holdem:
Harrahs, TI, Mirage, Cesars, Venetian, Flamingo, Bellagio, Ballys, PH. I don't think OP has anything to worry about. |

[/ QUOTE ] An interesting phenomenon I've seen is when a player will fold if you fold, but if you raise he'll call or reraise. It's like a guantlet thrown that he can't resist. Anyway, I don't think there's much sense in playing $2/4 anywhere unless you really have nothing else to do or are a bad player trying to minimize your losses. $3/6 is kind of borderline - you can make money - but with the kind of games they have at Bellagio at $4/8, as long as you're not poor I don't see why not to play in them. Nicer card room than the dumpy little IP too. I've only played NL at the IP, and then because I was staying there and sometimes it was convenient. I probably would have played $2/4 if I was drinking and wanted to goof around with some buddies or something. |

Re: Imperial Palace Limit Hold \'em
2/4 at IP is my home game for drinking a ton while having fun in Vegas. Its too bad though, because I play there when I am in the middle of my drinking, but then I get so drunk that 2/4 doesn't captivate me anymore, so I go try to lose $1k or $2k playing table games, 3/5 NL at Wynn, or 30/60 at Bellagio...dumb alcohol.
