Re: NL25: AKs vs pf aggresion
I would let this one go once I am 3-bet by an UTG limper. I don't see any reason to flat call here and I don't think you have much fold equity against this player.
I think you played the flop fine but you put yourself in a hard position. The only other alternative is pushing the flop. |

Re: NL25: AKs vs pf aggresion
Readless I prolly just let it go preflop. You'll be out of position and besides QJT or the like not really sure what flops are good/bad for you.

Isn't it push or fold pre-flop [/ QUOTE ] Yup! Once you've got 1/3 of your stack in PF what are you pushing on the flop that hasn't got you beat already? |

Re: NL25: AKs vs pf aggresion
Fold or push preflop to the reraise because you will be OOP on the flop. Without a read at a full ring table vs a UTG raiser who just reraised your reraise, I'd fold. At the very best you are up against another AK. Most likely QQ-AA with a KK-AA being more likely.
Calling is bad because you will be OOP with only about a 1 in 3 chance of spiking top pair on the flop - and you won't know if villain likes the flop before you have to act because you'll be out of position. And no matter what the flop is, it will be a bad spot to donk bet the flop since if the flop is all low cards, then he'll only (possibly) fold AK, but call or raise most overpairs. And if the flop has any broadway, then your donk bet might end up vs a set or an overpair in a big pot where you might very well end up pot-committed drawing just about dead with TP vs a set. I would suspect that on most flops CRAI would be your only viable option if you cold call preflop. Villain can be expected to fire at most flops, and a CRAI might scare off QQ or AK if the flop either has an A/K (scaring off QQ) or all low cards (scaring off AK). But folding preflop is much better unless you have a read that villain has a very wide range of junk in this spot, in which case you push preflop instead of call - but this is very unlikely unless you have a long history with him, which you don't in this case. Out of position = out of action. So, fold or push preflop. And without a read, fold. |
