Default Why I\'m better at poker than FGators

Why I am better at poker than FGators.
by the fingersmith

I am better than FGators because I, like many of us, am capable of winning money at teh unlimited betting hold thems EVEN WHEN RUNNING COLD. "Wow!" or "O RLY?" and "[x] small stakes" you might say! I say, shut up, here is the evidence. These are my October stats so far -- yes, only 2 BB/100 -- but allow me to direct your attention to my showdown numbers (24/44) and the exemplary HH's that follow.

Anyway, not the most mind boggling sampling of hand histories but you get the idea. I'm too lazy to look for ones with thin value betting. If you don't like it, who cares.

THE END

ZOMGedit: obviously I didn't bother mentioning the 283982 lost coinflips you donkeys

19/17 NL @ NL100 6 max, 2+ bb/100

looks right but meh, I'm sure you never sucked out yourself, that would help your winrate a little bit too.

I am better than FGators because I, like many of us, am capable of winning money at teh unlimited betting hold thems EVEN WHEN RUNNING COLD. "Wow!"

[/ QUOTE ]

You can expect to have downswings that are larger than your sample size here, especially as you move up, where you will not be doing well when running cold. Just a heads up.

yea, i know about them downswongs. i have had losing / breakeven stretches longer than this sample for sure. and i'm not looking forward to my true winrate decreasing as i move up. but this is a cute little start to my month, no?

i believe i sucked out twice over this sample, in what would have been cooler situations (only one for a buyin). (honestly there werent many opportunities to suckout, i'm that damn good.) yes it helped. but in general i am running like a fat man in a marathon. thats part of the point of looking at the 'won money at showdown' statistic. i'm not going to showdown overly often for my stats (24%), but i am winning at showdown pretty substantially less than i'd expect.

Because you only played 10k hands? If you know anything about statistics, you will see that the standard deviation here is 5BB/100 for your winrate right now. So a huge amount of the time, you can still easily be a losing player.
