%won at showdown & %won w/o showdown.
Hi, I just requested my stats from PokerStars, just to see what kind of stats they will give me. I saw it's pretty basic stats. But I was wondering about the last 2, which is pots won at showdown and pots won without showdown.
Obviously I know what they mean. But I was wondering if I should be aiming for a certain % for pots won at showdown? As in, if I'm only winning about 40% of the hands that I play until showdown, is this a bad sign? Does it mean I'm calling too much at river? What % should I be aiming for? And for the number of pots won without showdown, if the number is really low compared to the number of hands played, does this mean I'm not playing aggressively enough to push people out of the pot? I'm playing microstakes limit, btw. Thanks. |

Re: %won at showdown & %won w/o showdown.
It sounds like you don't have PokerTracker. I think the win % at showdown depends mostly on your playing style. The tighter you play, the higher it will be. The way your opponents play also matters. If they are very loose, your win % will probably drop since the pot will often be too large to fold a marginal hand. For a tight aggressive player, win% at SD will be in the high 50's. I don't think you can win with this number as low as 40%.

Re: %won at showdown & %won w/o showdown.
40% indicates that you're playing too many losers down to the showdown. Anything higher than about 58-60 usually indicates that you're not playing your winnings hands strongly enough.
How many hands do these stats cover? |
