changing for the blinds
I am almost sure someone has thought of this before but this is something I have been thinking about lately.
We all have our starting hand requirements at different stages of the MTT some from books, some from experiance but all of it is pretty general and not so on target(atleast for me). I am not talking about when you are short stacked and are pushing with any decent hand I am talking about when you still have a pile of chips infront of you and your trying to see flopes. I was thinking about some kind of calculation that would show me- 1 in how many times I will make a hand that is strong after the flop for example 2 pair and up -hands that can beat a bunch of limpers after seing the flop+drwing hands, using both your hole cards(top pair top kicker doesnt count here becaus I am trying to figure out min limping requirements). now I also want to put in my calculation the relation of my stack to the blinds& of ave stack to the blinds & the pot odds need to count as well. this way I can see if the limp is profitable or not. the whole Idea is that I get a better idea of what hands to go in and what hands to fold. of course I am not going to play I myself dont have the tools and the mathematical knowlege to do this but I was hoping someone else might have. If such a thing already exists then I would def like to hear about it . let me know what you think.. |

Re: changing for the blinds
Read up on "implied odds", actually grab a copy of "Theory of Poker". Soak that up and come back with your questions, you'll learn faster that way. Your question is very broad and a little more complex than you might realize.
"Professional No Limit Hold Em" is also a reasonable book to help you here. |
