Re: midnight madness AQo utg
please don't post results. it skews our advice.
PF - re-raise. F - check behind is fine. T - I would lead here since he showed weakness by checking flop. R - what you said. |

Re: midnight madness AQo utg
I'm not sure I reraise preflop being OOP with a hand as marginal as AQ unless I'm up a player who's range I know I'm beating. edit: actually, considering stacks sizes I won't argue with it, although it's still awkward.
Agree with flop check and turn bet - a player at these stakes will rarely check the flop with a big pair, and we can take the pot down a lot of the time with a turn bet. Not to mention you have additional outs vs some pairs that might have gotten cheeky on the flop with a check. As played to the river, we have no reason for betting. What's going to call you that you have beat? What better hands are you folding out that have you beat? You're probably not pushing out AK (which probably would have c-bet the flop), and you definitely aren't pushing out any pair or better because you've shown absolutely no strength the whole hand. Not only that, but calling a raise is even worse. Think about it - what is he raising the river with? Probably only a slowplayed big pair/FH/trips the majority of the time, and very rarely, if ever, a bluff with say KQ. You're both on small 20BB stacks and he won't try a bluff here if it means losing will leave him with less than half his stack. I'm ranting, but to make it short you have a) no reason to bet that river, and b) even less reason to call a raise. Just check it down. |

Re: midnight madness AQo utg
I would not have been able to resist the delayed cbet on the turn, and obviously a good % of the time you just cbet the flop here.
More importantly than the fact that villain was actually slowplaying a boat the whole time is the fact that your river shove is like the least believable play ever. What are you possibly trying to represent here? There are 0 hands that you'd ever play this way besides air, and anything that you beat is going to call the raise. I mean if he has ten high he'd fold I guess, but if you just call then you beat that anyway. What is equally as humorous is the fact that he just called your raise instead of shoving...that's awesome. |

Re: midnight madness AQo utg
you played this hand baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
shove this preflop. you're out of position the whole hand with a hand that sucks when UI. put yourself in position to see all 5 cards or win the hand here. since you chose to take the check it down method, why are you betting the river? just continue to check, and fold to a bet. why on earth do you think bet/call with ace high is good here? don't play poker under the assumption that people are always bluffing you. it makes you call with stupid hands like this. |
